Warren's Weblog Site

In case you haven't noticed, I've been keeping a seperate page for Warren here. There's also a link under the "Links" section.

Blizzard Aftermath From Above

Here's a cool pic from NASA's Visible Earth site:

Blizzard 2006

In case you haven't heard, we got a bit of snow this week...It started snowing Wednesday morning. I went to work, had to cancel some afternoon meetings and headed back home around 1:00 PM. Not a minute too soon, in that the blizzard quickly followed - by about 3:00 travel was next to impossible.

The next morning looked like this (for reference, check out the birdbath next to the tree - it's about 3 feet tall)...

We spent the entire morning digging out sidewalks, driveways and cars. I'm very lucky that Richard next door let me use his snowblower. This was about 20 inches in the driveway, and that was after I shoveled the night before.

All told, it wasn't quite as bad as the blizzard of 2003. It was close, but that snow was much wetter (and there was a whole foot more). Here's a picture from 2003 for reference (under all that snow is a pickup truck)...

Horsetooth Hike

Before the big storm, Owen and Dad went for a hike up Horsetooth Mountain, just west of town.

We picked up some pinecones for the Christmas tree.

The Tree is Up...

Here is a 7 1/2-foot baby Sequoia. Please - no hate mail...it's fake.

Owen decorated his first Christmas tree...

...and was proud of his work.
