January 2006, Part Deux

Happy Birthday Owen!

To celebrate, we went to the Denver Zoo. It was a nice, sunny day and the cool air made for lots of activity on the part of the animals. We were greeted by the lion...which actually got Owen off to a bad start with the large cats. It did almost look like the lion was feeling a bit "snacky" looking at all the gawking children. Things didn't get better when we watched the anxious, almost desperate pacing of the leopards as they moved back and forth in their cages, never taking their eyes off of their juicy, plump onlookers just out of reach on the other side of the cage.

...we moved quickly to the giraffes and elephants and more docile things.

On a final note, Owen graduated to a "big boy" bed...
